PSM is a professional contracting business specialising in track reformation, crusher, screener hire, plant hire and agricultural contracting services. Since its establishment in 2003, the company has built a strong reputation for delivering reliable, efficient, and high-quality services to farms, estates, and rural enterprises across the UK.
Where it all started
The business was founded by Pete McKie, initially providing agricultural contracting services with a single man and tractor.
Through strategic investment and steady growth, PSM expanded its services in 2006 with the acquisition of its first Red Rhino 5000 Crusher, marking the launch of its plant hire division. Continued investment followed with the addition of soil screeners, a larger Red Rhino 7000 Crusher and an excavator enabling PSM to provide a full package.
A family business
Pete’s wife Rose formally joined the business as a partner in 2020, strengthening the company’s leadership and operational structure. In 2024, Pete and Rose bought the family farm and became third-generation farmers at Inholmes Farm, reinforcing their long-standing commitment to agriculture and land management.
In 2010 PSM also started track reformation services. Since then, the company has successfully delivered projects throughout the north of England, southern Scotland and beyond, with customers from small private driveways to large country estates. PSM is recognised for its practical expertise, attention to detail, and ability to complete projects to a high standard in demanding rural environments.
Today, PSM combines traditional agricultural knowledge with modern plant and machinery, providing dependable, professional services tailored to the needs of the customer and are always thinking outside of the box.
